Online Technology Recommendations from a Geek Girl

technology recommendations

Even though I’ve rolled my Girly Girl Geek WordPress Website services back underneath the Clerical Advantage banner, it doesn’t mean I’ve lost my geek girl status. On the contrary, my own name is probably as easily recognized as synonymous for geek as the girly girl geek moniker was.  Lots of times, when someone realizes what I do for a living, they tell me how cool it is that I started my own business based on being the office geek. Then they shyly start asking me for technology recommendations.

What type of computer do you use?  What software do you use for XX?  Do you use cloud storage and if so which one?  iPhone or Android?  So many questions.  And I get it.  Office tech and online tech can be overwhelming.  It must seem like a golden opportunity to ask someone whose business is all about online technology in front of them to try to clear it all up for them.

That’s the motivation behind my new “This Geek Girl Recommends…” Resource.  I’ve created an entire page dedicated to sharing the hardware, apps, and services that I use for my own business, in providing services for clients and in some cases, in my personal life.

Why a resource instead of just a technology recommendations blog post?

Two reasons. One, having a dedicated page makes it easier for you to find when you need it.  No searching through the blog archives trying to find a post.  You can simply bookmark the page and come back to it again and again when you need it.  And two, it’s easy to update. Tech, especially online technology, changes quickly.  Some things I used exclusively a few years ago have been replaced for various reasons. Some of those things don’t even exist anymore.  That means in order for this technology recommendations resource to be truly useful, it needs to be updated when things change. If there’s something missing on my list, go ahead and email me and I’ll add it.

I hope you’ll find the new This Geek Girl Recommends resource helpful. I hope it becomes a useful resource that you’ll not only use but share with others.
